The first big change is that I am now with Crafter's Companion on the soft crafts side with Lizzy. We just couldn't stay apart too long. I am very excited to be working with this great team and of course, for the lovely Sara.
Over the weekend, I have been playing with some stamps and stencils that the talented Sheena has designed for paper and fabric crafting. You will find a couple of my projects on the Crafter's Companion blog soon and I have one here I saved for us. I hope you like it.
STEP ONE
Cut a small piece of calico and stamp with the Woodland Wildflowers Stamps. I used Sparkle pens instead of an ink pad.
These stamps were designed as silhouettes so there is no need to worry about masking and overstamping.
STEP TWO
When you are happy with your design, fray the edges of the calico.
STEP THREE
Iron a small piece of interfacing onto the reverse of your calico. You may not need to do this if you used heavyweight calico. It will, however, make your project a little more sturdy in case the recipient wishes to frame it or mount it on to a bag later.
STEP FOUR
I have an old typewriter which I love to create a greeting on. If you wish, you could stamp a greeting or maybe hand write one.
STEP FIVE
Because I also have my Grandma's lovely old Singer Sewing Machine, I like to stitch on to my projects - glue will work just as well!
STEP SIX
Attach on to some nice backing paper - This one is a Tim Holtz one from a while ago. Punch a couple of holes through the fabric and paper and insert some eyelets. Tie some string through and trim to fit. Attach to a card blank with foam pads - the string will raise the card slightly so foam pads will help it to sit nicely.
STEP SEVEN
Address the card to someone who will appreciate it and pop it in the post!
I hope this little post will inspire you to stamp on to fabric. Please do share your creations and comments on our Facebook Page - Crafting Together with Lizzy & Rossella.
Much Love
Rossella xx
